Neighborhood fun for Resurrection Day 2014

We are excited to be spending our first Easter here in Nairobi. As a way to reach out to our neighborhood and share the gospel with them, we hosted a neighborhood Resurrection Day Egg Hunt. We gathered about 30-40 kids from the neighborhood and met in one of the neighborhood’s fields where we played some relay games. After the games, the kids gathered around Lesli and our missionary friend Ali, who shared the Easter Story with them using the Resurrection Eggs from Family Life Today. The kids enjoyed interacting with the story and coming to the front to open each egg and see what was inside. Praise the Lord that we could share the truth of the Gospel with these precious children. Our prayer is that God would use His words to work in their hearts and draw them each to Him for salvation. After the story, we walked the kids down the street to another field where some other friends had hidden eggs for the kids to run and find. They were delighted to get some ‘sweets’ inside each of their eggs. As the kids gathered the eggs, we reminded them to remember the sweet story they had heard about Jesus that day. Happy Easter!  ~Lesli
